Front End Management

Does anyone know if the company is going to keep front end managers? Why does the front end need 5 team leads and a manger??! The team leads do all the work anyways!

Leads can already get into your personal info. Our managers give their user id's and passwords to them.

Isn't it amazing how they can be late all the time and not get points?

True! We have 6 Member Team Leads and 1 front end Mgr. Very little differences in us and the one Mgr. Time adjustments and meal exceptions are the only thing we can’t do, and sure that will be changing this year, as our club manager made the comment “oh, you can’t do that yet.”

Every Club is different. The folks willing to make a difference will help out everywhere they can. Those who want good work in the future are willing to tough it out. Those that see employment at Sam's as a "job" are a drain on morale and productivity. Tough times like these might weed out the doers from the drainers. Sam's didn't owe me anything when I walked in the door. I asked for the job. I got what I wanted, good or bad. I can pay my bills, get up every morning, and gripe just like everybody else because my wife works too. The point? Nobody owes me anything just because I exist. Same applies to all living creatures.

Managers think they're so special, that no one can do their jobs. That's evident by the minus marks given to the post here.

Let me remind you that it's only been a few years (2014) since home office came in and swept all middle management out the door, in one day, all over the country at the same time. Who does those jobs now? Team leads. In fact, team leads have taken over many duties that once belonged to different departments entirely. Cash office, personnel, to name a couple.

It is arrogant to think someone else can't do your job. They can and will. The salary of one manager equals two team leads. And team leads accumulate less time off, and I'm sure there are other perks home office would rather not pay out to managers.

Finally, most managers were team leads before they were promoted. So, guess team leads can do a managers job. No matter what new duties they would have to learn, I'm sure team leads are up to the task.

At my club we still have office people work in sales office because our lazy MSS don't want to do that job. Why? Because we allow it....

Agree. The manager at my club do nothing but to be b–ch and seat her a– in the office while all leads are running left and right. And everytime they ask her for help she will be upset and tell them why you can’t handle this? She will embarrass them in front of members and associate. I know not all managers are like this but the one we have is really bad she think who the heck she is.

Agreed. We only have 4, but every single one of them can do the front end managers job. From hiring to firings and everything in-between.
