Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Are Checkpoint meetings ambushes for RA meetings?

I just got a meeting invite for Checkpoint for this week. Has anybody else gotten this invite only to find out it was to tell you that you are being let go?

Managers need to complete all employee CheckPoint , It is not relevant for the RA.

I got Ra'd on Monday and still have a checkpoint meeting scheduled for next week. It was rescheduled the same day as my Ra meeting took place.

No. Checkpoint meetings are still considered sacred by IBM management and I would be very surprised if they extended beyond that.

My checkpoints have usually been the Manager quickly telling us what to fill out so that we can all get the painful process over with quickly.

No, it would be more vaguely worded if it was a layoff call. Feel lucky you are having a Checkpoint discussion. I haven’t had one since 2018. GBS.

Why does it matter to you? What if it is, you will still be laid off with additional reason. Please respect the rules and do your job responsibly.

They usually don’t do RAs during checkpoint meetings.
