Did it take 44 days to be mailed the cobra signup forms? Were you able to do it online? Were they sent the day of your layoff?

Mine never came. I had called and was told it can take the full 44 days. Getting closer to that time, I called again. This time, they gave me to someone in the "Cobra" group (I never got there the first time and didn't know it existed). The woman was extremely helpful. She told me that I didn't have to wait for the paperwork in the mail, that I could do it online. She gave me the ID specific to me and walked me through how to do it. I was done less than an hour later.
You don’t need forms, just call HR.
Cobra package came in mail a week or two after last day of employment, as advertised. Timing allowed coverage back to last day of employment. However there is a subtle change in policy #’s etc. so be sure that’s updated. Smooth enough transition
