Anyone have any insight as to when the company match will be reinstated? If it goes much longer into next year, that may be a big reason for a mass exodus.

401k match resume in January. Jeff said so in the Quarterly Review Broadcast.
how many threads do you need to talk about layoffs? They're not happening anyhow.
This is a forum about layoffs. Didja miss that?
thread title stated the thread topic just fine.
In this forum I am not sure why anybody would care about matches. If you are still employed with Dell, get your own thread...
Clarke said 401k would restart on Jan 1 during the Q3 Quarterly Results mtg.
Restarts in January
I say they read it just fine. Not mentioning reinstating 401(k) company match is a big omission at a corporate level.
Your contributions to our results and commitment to our customers and our company are deeply appreciated. Thank you. We are keenly focused on recognizing your efforts and we will resume affected programs, including pay and promotion cycles, over the next few months.
Maybe you should have paid closer attention.
Actually losing out on some great gains right now. I saw Michael Dells say they're bringing back things they cut such as reviews and raises, but didn't see anything about the company match. If it's not reinstated by March, it's time to start to think about leaving. Lots of companies hiring right now. Giving Dell the benefit of the doubt, but that only goes so far.
Dell should be back paying for the lost months!
Heard today on the quarterly earnings that it's starting back up in January.
I had decided to work 6% less when it was yanked. Working from home makes that much easier.
401K match restarting soon. Hot off the presses.
They pulled the trigger on removing the 401K match way too fast
Ugh. Again with this notion any major corporation cares about its employees. I don't care if you work for Dell, HPE, IBM, Amazon, MS, Tesla, SalesForces, or any other large publicly traded company. YOU ARE A NUMBER on a spreadsheet. You may have a good relationship with our manager and team and feel a sense of connection but understand when you zoom out you are a number that they review to see if the plus and minus work for their financial goals. At the end of the day they will adjust those numbers to meet whatever arbitrary goal they are chasing. They owe you nothing beyond what you negotiated in your comp package. If they choose to make changes they have no obligation to you outside of what the law dictates. CONVERSELY, you should feel no obligation to them beyond what they pay you for your work. I always chuckle when i see these bright eyed goof balls get excited about some sort of company spirit nonsense. It is like rooting for your highschool football team or favorite pro sports franchise. Neither of those give a sh–e about you either.
I find it infuriating that Dell took away the retirement matching benefit. They were doing fantastic financially when they made that decision, and didn’t perform to shabby afterwards either. In the modern age this is a primary contributor for our retirement - social security will be bankrupt long before most of us retire.
What this tells me is that Dell does NOT care about employee welfare. As soon as they saw a sign of trouble (unsubstantiated) they pulled the only benefit that didn’t impact us today but robbed us of our future well-being. This lack of foresight is what you get from a heartless corporation.
only the US was affected by the pension/retirement matching. we were not affected up here we continue to get our 5% match.
Did anyone notice that the 401K plan match ended when those employees that make 300K or more had already hit the max match? ($300K/12=$25K * 6% = $1.5K * 5 = $7.5K). After the 5th month there is no more match for those lucky indviduals!! I would not be surprised if the program is started up again for 5 months!
it's a deal breaker for me if it doesn't come back.
Yes, its coming back. Confirmed by internal reliable source.
I dont thing it will ever come back
