It would be really interesting to make some retrospective of successful and unsuccessful mergers and acquisitions in the last decade and to comment on each. I feel horrible when I think of some of them, such as Wind River Systems. There were a lot of mistakes that could have been avoided, right? I sometimes stop and wonder if Intel is actually learning anything from their failures?

Certain acquisitions have much more exposure and risk. MEye can either sink or propel Intel. Wind river was just background noise
Good companies focus on what they ARE doing. Companies that have plateaued or are going downhill worry about what they AREN’T doing, and then buy smaller, more agile companies to plug their “worry holes”.
