Is this for all management (staff and supervisory) throughout the company or just specific organizations? I recently applied for a management position in the southeast and this wasn’t mentioned.

It's amazing how we find out about this through a layoff website.

This lack of transparency / cloak and dagger sh– needs to end. Those "people" you keep out of the loop are your lifeline, the blood that keep it alive. Stankey, when are you and Co. going to learn that alienating your own workforce isn't how you run a company?

If you're going to keep secrets, why should WE trust YOU? Trust is earned, not bought.

I have absolutely no trust in this company.

MilkDaTrain - spot on. Heard about bands and PTO. Do you know if IPI going away will impact us this March ‘21 bonus or not til 2022?

@milkdatrain

"+3 paid holidays (MLK, Pres, and Friday after Turkey Day) "

but that's not a +3, only a +2, because they had converted it into a floating holiday already.

On your last point, IBM did that and my friends bonus dropped by 95% in total. And he was usually ranked as a 5.

Yes changes are coming as medical supplement and interest rate were already known if that didnt force someone's old a$$ to leave maybe a little extra santa help...

Vacation PTO - 20+ years. Yes you loose 5 days. +3 paid holidays (MLK, Pres, and Friday after Turkey Day)

Salary Bands - Far left and far right are gone to a more condensed. Contains future increases and compounding. Mostly for those aging in place or have stepped down that are beyond midpoint impacts

Performance Reviews - Back to 2x per year with two categories and 5 ratings (1 - 5). '5' rating walks on water will not be given dont event try it

Bonus IPI/KCA - Incremental bonus or whatever you want to call it is gone going forward and budget of $$ will be given the leadership to allocate throughout year

What does this company sell that anyone wants anyway? LL's are dead. Cell phone service, price & support is better at vz & tmus.
No one buys T streaming, offerings are poor, price is high, not on Roku or Firestick, no one wants another box by the tv.
Directv is going OoB quick as channels are dropped, satellites fall from the sky and prices are increased.

The future here appears to be the arrival of the Chapter 11 Bankrupt Train. Arriving at a terminal near you.

And don't forget to give your fair share to UW and make a donation to Boy Scouts.

@1rto, thats probably not far from the mark. Less people with increasing workload means they need to increase productivity. Eliminating paid time off is one way to do that. They probably also believe that since people are working from home, they may not be as productive as in the office.

As a salaried manager, I would routinely work after-hours and off days if I felt the need was great, to support my team's projects, or to lend a hand during emergency operations and natural disasters. That was my work ethic; my choice; my responsibility. I won't be doing that anymore.

AT&T used to be a great company, and a great company to work for. It started swirling down the toilet in 2007, and hasn’t stopped going downhill since. This places is a disgrace to customers, shareholders, and employees, as well.

Anyone can see the reason they are reducing vacation is because they are planning layoffs. Less time off for those still here means they can let more people go.

You knew when they let you work from home they would know you don't need a vacation anymore.

So they took away your Retirement Medical Supplement and now they are taking away a week of vacation. Which, I will remind you that if they surplus you then you won't get that 5th week as pay. So what's next? How else can they hose the people that built this company?

sounds about right for att and something they would do - got to pay the dividend and stank just built a house in LA so he has to pay that in full.

Also going from 2 to 3 months of paid parental leave and 3 weeks of caregiver leave (for non bargained employees only)

here we go again. Around the time that AWS was bought HR adjusted the PTO time and took away a week just as I was to get that next bump to 38 (I think?) days and time was capped at 33 days regardless of NCS. Of course all those "Blue" folks were allowed to retain their banked or carry over PTO days for a few more years.

Yes. Moving to a 2 tier system instead of 4 tiers of today. Folks with less than 10 years of service will get 23 days PTO. Folks with more than 10 years service will get 28 days PTO. In current system, if you have 20 or more years service you get 33 days PTO. So a large group of people are losing 5 days PTO a year. Allegedly also adding 3 days as company holidays (in addition to current 6). Sounding like may be MLK, President’s Day and day after Thanksgiving. So a net loss of 2 days for many employees...but with 2 holidays no one cares about and wouldn’t normally take off (MLK and Pres). Would much rather have those days as PTO. This is for US management. No idea if impacts non management or employees outside US.

if you already work more than 8 hour days on a regular basis, and they take away vacation time, look into the alternative work schedules and get an day/half day off every other or every week... there are a few options, check out the elink time reporting manual ... there are actually some groups that allow it.

Will you stand for it? I think I would reduce my work day to 8 hours and nothing more. No more night or weekend work. Sorry, if you want to treat me as a contractor then I will become one.

If you have the work and overwhelmed, having more vacation days really doesn't mean much, you end up working those hours anyway. While there are still a lot of people with 2-3 decades of service, that won't be the ongoing trend. Most companies are starting with 3 weeks, bring up the low end makes sense.

Oh well. I'll go from 33 to 28 days if necessary. That's still more vacation than most places.

Not everyone loses a week. It will be 28 days max for 10 years or more. Some new people will be gaining a week. New people will get 23 days right away.
