Any website/forum out there for rumours of lay-off’s and other important things employees want to be in the know of. Seemingly this is only for those that have Been part of a WFR.

Many companies whom care about their employees are exhausting all options before laying off. Just wondering here if Dell executives have taken a pay cut? LOL I know....but just had to put it out there.

If you were laid off (I call it getting fired), or didn't get a merit increase, it's because one of two logical reasons: either you, or the company you worked for ultimately was sh–.
I've been fired at least 3 times in my life, so I've personally had to figure out a few times if it was me, or if it was the company. In every instance my next job was higher paying than the one that ejected me. When I find a better opportunity out there I fire the company I'm working for. They were a–holes for not paying me what I was worth.
When your company reveals that it cannot pay you it's time to look for a better company or start your own. It's never fun to be in a situation where you got the short end of the stick, but that's always a possibility, so keep your eyes open for better opportunities and never look back. Life is nasty, brutish, and short.

@9unq+18elIGPH - why are you saying fake news? I have many friends that still work at Dell and the ones I talked to recently said all of those things are true.

Announced by DS yesterday, 401k matching coming back, points for Inspire awards returning, merit increases expected by early April, and schedule will remain with Q1 instead of reverting back to October, and on-track for IBP depending on how Q4 goes.

@5zvn+18elIGPH LOL maybe in the US you'll see a cut, most other countries you can't cut the pay and in a few other countries yearly pay must be increased at a certain percentage.

enjoy.

@5bti+18elIGPH incorrect but you will see a 3 % pay cut across the board for all in 2021.

good luck and stay positive.

lots of grumpies on here. its ok.

merits usually happen every year around the end of the calendar ~October/November. for a few years there were no merits, but generally speaking you get a merit of 2-5% depending on your performance/manager direction.

just a note, please respect the fact that this forum is for those who unfortunately have bee WFRd or are asking questions about WRF.

to those that have been WFRd, things will work out in the end. been there, done that. it makes you stronger - you wont realize it now but later down the road you will reflect on what happened and you'll know it was for the good.
