IPI ending for 2021

More changes coming to compensation. You will no longer receive an IPI starting in 2021 instead business units and their management will be able to award monetary recognition throughout the year for achievements. More information coming next week .. keep an eye on your email.

When they k–led KCA, they couched it in terms that more people would benefit from the volume of IPI bonus payouts, i.e., more people would be receiving a share. Of course this was pure BS, and they eventually would re-write the rules so that only people who got an Exceeds or Far Exceeds would get it. Then they changed those rules too, and ratings went from a 5 tier system to 3 tiers..and in general, only the top level qualified for IPI payout.

Whatever they are doing now, they will try to spin it like its better for the employees, but this is a lie. They wouldn't be making changes if they weren't looking to save money in some way.

In the past, KCA was above and beyond bonus payout. Now, KCA is gone, they are just robbing Peter to pay Paul. Sure, some superstars may deserved the extra pay, but their teammates are getting less. This is driven by the business decision to pay out less, you can thank management for that winning strategy.

probably give you 100 dollar gift cards for working 60 70 hours a week.

They will also rate higher paid people a lower percentage because the money in the pot spreads further. S—s big when you go through layoffs as your rating hurts you again. And finally, throwing you a,bonus is cheaper than a raise because you have to keep getting one to stay ahead. Lastly, I had they are going to adjust salaries, managers only. My guess is down.

It is about time, it used to be a good thing when you had honest hard working people, then brown nosers came in from Birmingham, didnt do the work but took the credit and award money, I stopped participating, this is Huntsville Alabama Credit and Collections.

your team must be amazing then. Over in our CTO group IPI (when it was awarded) went to the same brown noser in the Central region year after year. Since our group is rather small and we actually compared notes on this stuff it was easy to figure out who was getting the award repeatedly.

it's all such a joke

I wouldn't necessarily say that. Yes, most didn't get an IPI, but it varied between 25% and 33% (1/3) on my team over the past few years. Usually 10% got a more substantial award and the rest got a somewhat smaller one. But it was not unobtainable. I would say in the past 5 years about 80% of the team got an IPI least once.

Do you mean IPI for 2020 paid in March 2021 is still available, but after that it will be ending or done differently?

IPI is basically a joke, you need binoculars to see that carrot on the stick. Sure, some will receive while most would not. Net effect, most are getting less in bonus, and there goes the motivation. This goes completely contrary to the big pitch about working as a team and winning together. And If you speak up and complain, then you aren't a team player. Just another dysfunctional part of the system. And the HR geniuses will fix it, right.....

As non bargained for, under a couple different bosses I got the old KCA every year. I like to think it was because I was a “key contributor”. New boss for last handful of years, along with the change to “IPI” and I’ve never gotten a sniff at it. Despite last year where I was directly responsible for initiating an unplanned kickoff and timely execution on a project that returned a couple million. I thought that was going to shoe me in for a few grand via the IPI. Nope. Zip. Zero. Nada. My level of GAF has been retuned accordingly.

Oh how I wish they had 360° feedback tied to performance awards. Now no bonus at all. What c-ap.

IPI has been reserved for the brown nosers for close to 5 years in our org. It's not based on performance or contributions to a teams success. Just another part of the game

The original idea was to reduce the team award by encouraging team members to "compete" with each other for the same amount of money from the IPI bucket instead of the team award bucket.

Now they're just going to eliminate ICI entirely for some random awards, likely $100 or $25 awards put on a debit card? Is that a tacit admission that their original plan didn't work? Was anyone in HR held accountable for failing with that initiative?

Where are you getting this information from??

It has been dwindling for some time now. When they first moved to it and k–led the KCA, it reduced how much bonus money was going out to the lower levels. Ever since, they have been reducing the % of people who get it and the amount.
