Let’s get the good and the bad.
I’ll start:
Previous group: okay, but I felt I was doing stuff that was too driven by metrics and not focused on improving the quality of the fab process; manager was good technically, but seemed to be using his management position to have freedom to work on stuff he was passionate about while ignoring some of the tensions rising between cutthroat new hires (1-2 years experience) fighting over projects since nothing was ever assigned; management was fairly homogenous and preferred people like them. Not in Oregon
New group: good; work is more complex than previous group, but I wouldn’t be worried about finding a job in 5 years if something goes down; the organization takes their cultural improvement projects seriously and the people are not cynical towards them; managers are active in technical discussions; people do not view each other as competition; international; disciplined. Not in Oregon
