CNN uses WebEx.
Imagine if Cisco had simply invested in WebEx in the years since it was acquired. Instead the product team turned into a clone of other Cisco orgs with meaningless success metrics and a revolving door of "friends of the boss" in leadership roles. Then one day you wake up to realize someone else is stealing away the milk from your cash cow. Now you have to spend hundreds of millions of dollars just to catch up.
Downside of a big portfolio of products is you need to continuously invest in them. Cisco should spin off WebEx, take the money while it's hot.
No acquisition is going to solve Cisco's poor culture, bad management, and weak product development challenges. These desperate acquisitions affirm Zoom's strategy and market dominance. Cisco failed, lost market share, and will never recover with WEBEX.
To all Slido employees: Welcome to the layoff Machine.
WebEx is so expensive, why can't we just use Free, discord?
