Studios put up the money and assume all the risks UP FRONT. Nolan can shut his pie hole.

I find this move hilarious!! Way past tired of the Hollywood elitist telling me how to live! All the other big film companies are going to follow suit now. These jerks are going to make 1/4 of their pay going forward. The comment “we can’t be replaced like an engineer” really sealed the deal. Why yes, you can!

This one sounds a bit overblown. All well and good for industry people to complain about lost revenue from theaters, but that there would be any revenue assumes that theaters open and people pay to enter them. That's not happening where I live, hasn't been happening since March, and isn't likely to happen until well into 2021 at best. And there's nothing AT&T can do about that.

There's a deal to be made here.

With Da Stank knowing more about the entertainment industry than anyone else, I'm a little surprised he didn't consider how p1ssed everyone in the industry was going to be about bringing the 2021 slate straight to streaming.

Or maybe (probably) he DID consider it & just doesn't care.

I guess he figures he can lay off another 40k to cover all the lawsuits caused by this decision, no no big deal.

Stank is attracting the best talent to the company! In year 2050 students in business schoool will be reading how Stank saved Hollywood and telecom cause he knows more than all. Stank should be our next president!

The key takeaway here is that creators, producers, and financiers stand to lose a ton of backend money they normally get from theatrical distribution. We're talking tens of millions, if not more. Look for a barrage of lawsuits over this, especially since AT&T/WM did this in the dark behind closed doors, without any consultation with other stakeholders. Not surprising, given the overwhelming arrogance that inflicts T's C-suite. This move will backfire and cost more in legal fees and punitive damages than it would have in box office loses.

Here's The Scientific Reason Incompetent people thrive at AT&T.
You may have witnessed this scene at work, Someone who has very little knowledge in a subject claims to know a lot. That person might even boast about being an expert, and i have my share of them, specially female supervisors ..know it all!

the Dunning-Kruger effect. It's not a AT&T disease, a syndrome combined with mental illness that moves swifly in your management teams ranks.

Put simply, incompetence thrives here. people think they know more than they really do, and they tend to be more boastful about it, the current results speak for themselves.

Just imagine if The Stink had worked on a Covid vaccine. He is so smart we would have one last February. He is so smart. He knows everything.

Nolan is an overrated prima donna but I'm sure he's not the only artist unhappy about T's sending their films straight to streaming.

But HBOmeh has hours and hours of Big Bang Theory and Friends, so they'll be able to keep giving customers what they want even if all the big Hollywood names go to other studios.

I couldn't get past the first sentence of the article - "Dec. 3, 2020, is a day that will live in infamy." Nolan is an arrogant son of a b–ch to compare stuck up, cry baby, overpaid movie makers, with Pearl Harbor. Frankly, I'm disgusted by his comparison.

Nolan made a product and SOLD IT to Warner. Warner owns it and can do with it what they want. Boo hoo to Nolan. It's as bad as a world war that k–ls millions to have his feelings hurt. I'm sure after giving this interview, he got on his private jet to fly somewhere to complain about global warming too.

Stankey knows more than any one about movies and directing and producing. Stankey is way ahead of Nolan in all film production matters. Stankey has watched many movies and has a DVD player at home.

Just like Stankey new about future of how people would watch TV at home and made a timely acquisition of Time Warner. Stankey understands media. And he has multiple dishes installed on top of his home(s).
