Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Where to find a copy of my original employment agreement

Thinking about resigning but would like to check the original employment agreement to see how many years am I not allowed to work in the same area. Any idea how can I obtain a copy without having to talk to anyone? Thank you!

No individual in a corporation can interfere with your right to seek employment at another corporation even if you are doing the same work at the new corporation that you did at the previous corporation. As long as you do not divulge proprietary and confidential information, you have the right to work in any discipline even if the company is a competitor. Please note that what XOM considers proprietary can easily be found on a google.com search.

If a corporation or individual tries to interfere directly or indirectly with your right to work at a competitor, you have legal grounds for a harassment based civil lawsuit.

Non competes are typically non enforceable clauses. IP rights and anything NDA'd do have to be upheld.

Check your file cabinet at home. If you were too young and irresponsible, then you will have to start with HR.
