What blows my mind is that the same id–ts who made the deal in the first place and then ran it into the ground (Stankey, McRotten), are on the committee deciding who to sell this to at a massive discount.

Isn't that a bit like the murderer sitting on the bench and deciding his own sentence?

It's not $15B. They are selling a stake in it, and saying the offers value it at $15B. So maybe they get 7B at this point.
