In yet another waste of money they have decided to do a superintendent safety award and give out carbon fiber hard hats. The concerning thing isn’t that they gave out the hard hats but who they gave them out to. They gave them out to mostly Foreman that never leave the office and are definitely not leaders in safety. Why not just say these hard hats are going to the biggest a** kissers in the area? This is in the CBU.

I've been bringing my own PPE (exposure monitors, mostly) for years now.
It is deductible for taxes if you itemize.
(There's a hole in daddy's lung where all the money goes)
Whewee. I guess the field hasn't heard the new 'BYOPPE' policy starts Jan 1.
EM MOH not communicating?
Oh - their single Admin got gardened and it never went out.
OSHA-cks.
The shut up is for the nasty comments towards the original post.
You obviously have never worked a wrench or put your life at risk out in the oilfield! If you had, you would have a clue why it is disrespectful to those that can easily not go home the way they showed up for work earlier that day. Just shut up!
I would add that I agree that giving out “so called” safety awards to office personnel sends a bad message to the field personnel that that are actually doing physical work. It lowers moral knowing that a person watching someone work and filling out an LSA is more important than the person doing the work who filled out a JSA and did the job safely.
To the person that commented that the OP needs significant improvement I would say you are probably one of the people watching others work and expecting to be rewarded for it.
This company needs to take care of their skilled workers and get rid of all of the managers/foreman that don’t contribute anything that actually makes the company money.
If you think a few $200 hard hats are in any way material to the problem you might Need Significant Improvement.
