Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

What do you do?

My store plays favorites (it’s pretty darn obvious) and I have to go with the flow because there ARE worse things out there - like being unemployed. Sometimes I want to tell my manager and his favorites off but I refrain. At the end of the day I’ve still got bills to pay and mouths to feed and I don't want to put a target on my back. How do you deal with things like this?

Before workday we had to fill out a request form for requested time off. Tl and their favorites abused that. After workday I thought request would time stamped so that the tl would know who requested a specific date and time. WRONG!!!!! My tl knows how to manipulate workday.

Sorry you are having this problem. I endured it for the last 5 yrs I worked WFM. The first 9 yrs were fine. Just keep your head down, do your job and don't call attention to yourself. If you are a team leader do all of the above and also don't get too chummy with store management. Store Leadership has their "groupies" that feed their egos. If you don't want to join the fan club then stay away from those people. They can cause you trouble just because they can.

Because people in the store leadership don't know any better. They play the exact game they saw being played on the streets they grew up ”admiring” or it’s like high school cliques haha. It’s all so disgusting. Good people with brains that are good enough all have left over the years. Now whole foods is left with garbage people who play favorites like on the streets they come from
