I can’t remember the last time we had an executive team that actually cared for the well-being of the company or their employees. Within a good number of years I hear a lot of preaching going on by the higher ups but they never practice what they preach. We haven’t had real leadership since god knows when. All we have are execs who want to stuff more into their overflowing pockets.

@6nhr+18m6s5My. The stock has not gone up because the Wall Street people can see through the lies from Ford management (reorg, new plans, new vehicles, all EV) that they have no clue what to do, they are improvising, buying or investing in companies that do not produce money back, copying what GM is doing, but no single fresh or innovative idea. And as all Ford people know, all these cost reductions (AKA lay offs) are getting ridden of good people, leaving the deadwood and the incompetent bloated management in the company.
I noticed when the incompetent Hackett showed up (remember the 100 days plan?), no clue at all, but still trying to impress Wall Street. Of course he failed, again and again. Now we are trying to do it again with Farley. Good luck with that, Billy (Ford) boy!
Like the Spanish say...there is no animal as coward as a million dollars. Billy, if you want people to invest in a car company, you have to provide them with a dream (Tesla), or reliable manufacturing (Honda), or best profit in the market (Toyota). Ford only has a handful of good vehicles and a reducing consumer base. Ford is not a software company, but a manufacturing company. If you cannot provide a greater dream than Tesla, then improve reliability and profits. But do it smartly, not by letting go the people that knows the business. Get rid of most of the management, flatten the company's structure and ask accountability to the remaining managers.
Thanks
No it does not. You look at the body language that says it all. No passion and if you read what the WS boys think why has the stock not gone up? Morale is low despite what you see in a PULSE survey. If there are more cuts in the next year or two then tell the troops so they can be ready for them. That includes the agency folks this latest cut last week just before the holidays does not sit well for the full time folks as well. It tells them not to trust upper management team. Gain the trust first then you will get the troops to step up.
The leadership does not care about vehicles or even the customer. Just whatever it takes to get a very short term increase in the stock price. Ford is an investment fund company NOT a car company. Earnings per share in the short term ( 3 months) is all that matters. Find a good stock broker and invest in Ford, and watch and research the stock yourself. Make investing in Ford your primary job, and working there your secondary job. If you can't beat them, join them. Just remember make short term investments with Ford.
Simple answer is "NO". What we have now are boobleheads. If you watch them speak about this re-org or new process from the top down their body language as one expert told me,, says they do not believe in what they are talking about. no passion or drive. Jim Farley as one blog stated has worked at Toyota and under Allan Mullaly. So he has seen what a real leader who can provide a realistic Vision & Plan for everyone to understand.
I am sorry but Jim Hackett was not a product guy or even a car guy. He lacked passion about cars & trucks and had no vision or plan. And Billy well he had the keys to the ship once before and his own family was ready to dump the family preferred stock (ref spring of 06) if he did not step down. And if you look over the past four years he is sticking his nose into something he is in way over his head. So right now we have "YES" people in charge, Not product people. JF you have one year to change that! Which path do you go? Allan or Billy? Nobody is questioning that one day we will get away from ICE to either EV or other. But you bring that product when there is a market and those vehicle shave the same performance as an ICE. Good luck because a lot of good people will rely on your choices.
Friends and family is a congenial way of saying cronyism and nepotism.
"Working at your family business during the day instead of doing your work at Ford..."
LOL
i'm... actually okay with this.
I mean... In "normal" times... certainly Not.
But these are NOT normal times.
if the BigWigs can SCAM.. then you'd be a F.O.O.L not to get "yours".
I know quite a few people out there doing uber/lyft/doordash while they're supposed to be at home 'working from home'.
LOL
Pure Craziness.
I have no doubt this system will all Collapse..
Wish i had a solution... but i don't.
(Buckle-up, i suppose)

Often wonder when the level of corruption at the “leadership” levels will sink the company.
There is a seemingly endless supply of people willing to take the risk and behave badly aka not in the company’s best interest. The problem is once they have taken the initial risk and have been rewarded, they don’t know when to stop. It is like that initial decision gives them license to behave more and more badly, all the while believing they are doing absolutely nothing wrong, because everyone else in their sphere is also doing it.
Early in my career it seemed like it was a 75% good guys 25% corrupt in the “leadership”, now one would be hard pressed to find 25% of “leadership” who are not corrupt.
Corruption = doing things that benefit yourself at a detriment to the company. Promoting/hiring unqualified people on the friends and family plan. Recommending purchases that do not benefit the company for kickbacks/vendor providing a job for family members. Working at your family business during the day instead of doing your work at Ford. Claiming fake OT. You get the idea.
If you kiss a$$ and agree with everything your narcissistic boss say or do - you might have a bright future.
Leadership? What? Where?

I agree wholeheartedly.
Agree with other posters
Leadership at Ford is a scam.
We recently had an unqualified politically advantageous GSR promoted to LL6
The posting of the LL6 position was a scam to satisfy HR. The person was chosen 8 months ago.
The interview process was a scam. The LL5 asked some people to apply to make it appear that she
was actually interviewing, and then told them all they did not interview well.
Here is the funny part, this whole political appointment was orchestrated over 18 months.
First the LL5 SRD the LL6 who was a subject matter expert. Then she promoted someone she knew was going to retire within a year. Then she transferred the person tagged to become the LL6 into her area. This guy knew absolutely nothing about the area (and still does not). Then when the LL6 retired, the political appointee was promoted to LL6. The LL5 scored points with higher up LL by giving an LL6 to a friend of theirs.
This is how Ford works. This is how Ford as an organization gets dumber and less efficient every day.
You now have a clueless political employee who spends most of his day on Mount Stupxd making decisions that negatively impact the company business.
Sadly, it does not exist at the Ford Motor Company.
The only thing Ford leadership-at all levels-are concerned about is keeping their gravy train going and looking for their next promotion. The Ford promotion system is nothing more than a scam to enable the scum to push the next level of scum forward. All behind closed door gamesmanship. No transparency and really great talent being shut out. I say they need to sc-ap the current process and move to a multi level process. NOBODY GRANDFATHERED...CURRENT MGT WOULD HAVE TO REQUALIFY. The process starts with field specific technical skill testing. If you are looking to manage people in an area, you must be skilled from a technical standpoint to do so. If you could not do the work of those below you, you have no business managing it. Next step, rigorous experience screening. You need to have street cred behind you. How do you expect to be a productive and respected leader if people below you surpass you. Finally, once you pass these first 2 steps, your candidacy is opened for public comment/ feedback by the general employee population. This further screens out the terrible or incompetent. If someone can pass through those 3 gateways, we might just finally have a company with legitimately skilled and competent management. Finally, this is not a one and done. Any next move or promotion ...repeats the process. Why? Helps eliminate gravy train people because the process will make people work for it. Nothing is perfect, but this would be much better than we have today.
At the director level and even VP level many seem to me like high class escorts. They are loyal, follow orders, work really hard to appear polished, cheerlead for the company, try to avoid anything new or risky.
Sorry to say that but that is what I have witnessed. Not very inspiring.
