I want to believe that things will improve and at the end of the day we will all keep our positions. But the reality is there will always be layoffs, some major and some small. That is the world we live in, made worse by the pandemic. The only thing I am certain of is that we are in charge of our own happiness. If you enjoy it here then by all means remain. Take whatever you can to grow your skill set, expand your knowledge and gain experience. If you don’t enjoy it here, then by all means try to find something better - because it’s out there. Either way, it’s your choice.

Indeed, why worry about losing something that isn't fixed? No job is indefinite; that's simply a fact. In a perfect world, employers would be loyal, but that's not our reality. We need to build our resume by learning new things, gaining new value propositions, and marketing/sales for ourselves.
