Rex overpaid for XTO and started this trend of borrowing to pay money to pay dividends, both of which decisions have led us to this hole we are in. Need to bring back Lee who was laser-focused on making smart capital decisions and understood the future of the company is dependent on DEVELOPMENT and PROJECTS. Our un-inspiring Downstreamer in Chief has cut all major projects and will start wondering why we have a massive decline in production in a few years.

Op simply expressed appreciation for the dividend. You have no idea whether they hold 100 shares or 100,000 shares, nor how much they may be diversified or their net worth.

Gratitude must be a strange concept to you. But in terms of class, they are infinitely richer than you will ever be.

Average price of my investments in. XOM over 35 years = $46. But that includes 45 years of reinvestment of dividend at prices up to $104. Lowest price on my account is $6 share, and a bunch of them due to splits. Have many other sources of income, but current $9k every 3 months keeps wife and Amazon happy while I spend my time at cabin in hill country.

Well jokes on you considering how well you could have done investing in pretty much anything else but keep patting yourself on the back for collecting the dividend. Hint there is something called total shareholder return you should look into.
