I was in a rude shock when my manager called up and told me that I can leave or need to go through the Pee(sorry PIP!) even though I was receiving excellent feedback regarding the quality & quantity of my work throughout last year (not from the A*hle local manager, but to whom I was delivering it to). And you know what, improvement parameter I got is on 'Presentation skills'!!(my A–). That very moment I realized I need to get out this toxic system ASAP.
Luckily got out in a month, and landed in another role with a 25% better pay!. So guys, to those who got PiPed or laid off, don't be disheartened. Just be thankful that you could come out of an ultra toxic system. Good things are awaiting you!.

Don't believe much of what you read on this forum. The entire U.S. economy is still very fragile, and many tech companies are hugely overvalued. Just look at the IXIC. A major correction is likely in the tech industry, possibly even worse than what O&G is going through now.
Look before you leap.
The job market is picking up and some industry are booming. Don't get freak out by what you hear and see in EM. We are just uniquely wired.

The irony with your comment.. I'm still with the company but have the same sentiment as @OP. It's people like you that make this company disgusting and toxic. Couple it in with the poor perseption of DW and O&G, and it's a wonder what I'm still doing here.

Well, being the original author of this post, I am just venting out my anger here. I came to EM from an equally good company (The reason was EM offered better pay). My previous company (Non Oil & Gas) didn't layoff even a single person even though their business was going bad, its shows how they treat their people.
The way EM is laying off/PiP ing people is just too bad. I had a high regard for this company, but its completely shattered. Someone commented good riddance, seriously?. If this continues, EM will be left only with boolickers and sweet talkers.

You have been posting this (from 25% worse to 25% better salary) for a while on this forum. If you are so happy why is it you are still posting on EM forum? Miss much? Or now are you trying to improve EM to help the humanity and the planet?
Always remembered his epic forum.. like many others we attended.. nothing concrete came out of it.. but it made DW feel good about himself..
