Be wary of personnel changes like promotions/demotions/geographic moves where leadership secretly assumes the employee will either decline or eventually end up leaving. Those aren't counted as "layoffs," but they're part of the strategy. NIke is really doing some underhanded stuff that will never likely be exposed.

Yes. Squeeeeeze people out. It causes so much more chaos than just being above board.
OP, yes...Nike mastered the art of deception and unethical behaviors that go undetected to its own employees and the public. I work in HR and I know this much is true.
