Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Is Sales next?

Sales quotas have been lowered for some groups due to COVID, but is this a sign of what’s to come for the Sales org? News of layoffs in this org have been suspiciously quiet compared to the technical side, while other similar companies are letting go of entire sales teams:

What do you think?

How often do those in Sales last before LR? Or do they just jump ship first? Seems like a lot of technical folks sticking around for too long who get LRed- but curious how frequently LRs actually hit sales teams.

“Did every SE getting a DX80 lead to being virtualized?”

Yes and no, arguably it started the ball rolling but Project Gamechanger went to the entire sales force, not just the SEs.

There have been quite a few layoffs in sales teams this round. I expect there to be more in Q3, once the H1 results are known and the pipeline for H2 is better understood.

On top of that is Project Voldemort* which is the first stage of SE virtualisation.

*deliberate miss-spelling.

Another round of Sales LR's are coming. TSA's being reorg'd and post reorg will see some LR's with eventual transfer to GVE. More AM positions will be transferred to GVS due to COVID19 and with it LR.

Cisco products are so complex nowadays they definitely don't sell themselves. Good luck with that partner only model - and the bus will run into the ditch.
