Payroll cut off date for 2020

Is Dec 16 the cut off date?

Im waiting til jan 1st to sign mine just in case the tax laws try to pull a fast one and by signing the release in 2020 causes the payment to be included in 2020 w2. Most likely it will not. I checked taxes and there is some verbiage that states even though a check may be cut in January the irs can say it applies to previous tax year. Ultimately its what appears on the 2020 w2 that get mailed to us every year that determines this.

Yes it is. I generally come to the layoff.com for all critical company related deadlines and legal information, and investing advice instead of communicating with the relevant administrative authorities. Sometimes I get good info, sometimes not. it makes life much more fun, lol!
