Coaching to numbers during pandemic is it true that rsc’s are supposed to be coached for behavior and NOT numbers?

You can be coached on numbers and the behaviors to correct them — you cannot be disciplined on numbers (at least under current policy). Your numbers may certainly drive action plans which then include specific behaviors you have to do to correct the numbers. Discipline would be a result of not following through with behavioral action items.

Pandemic or not, numbers are never to be coached to. It should always be behavior based, but if your numbers are low you can definitely expect more attention to be paid to you. Any coaching done should result in actions that you either did or didn’t do and how to correct them. If your manager isn’t giving you these action items, you should ask for them.

Yes. Managers are not supposed to coach to numbers, but behaviors. You are correct in that statement. Managers however do find a way to be creative in some instances and coach to numbers by making it appear like you weren’t following behaviors. The best bet for you here is to grieve the coaching if you believe it was done to numbers and not behaviors.
