Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

UOP review merged w Honeywell on Glassdoor

Once working at UOP was a dream job for Chemical Engineers. However it seems that lately it is going down in the toilet particularly after Honeywell taking over 100%. Must have gotten tons of bad reviews so must has requested Glassdoor to merge UOP's reviews with Honeywell's, so becomes harder to spot bad reviews/negativities about UOP.

Glassdoor is widely regarded as a joke, and does nothing to prevent or discourage fake positive reviews instigated by the employer.

@uyk+18qdl7hl you sound like from management
Or one of those biased UOP employee who is warming up the chair. UOP has office in India and the way UOP has treated people there and in DP is reflected in those reviews. Many companies gave layoffs and/or furlough but with very well advanced notice to their hard working employees not like 1 day or 1 week at UOP. Some worked for the organization for more than 25 years, so have some sense of responsibility. UOP management is keep pointing fingers to upper managements or parent organization managements and playing dumb with their engineers while filling their pockets. Your comments reflects current culture at UOP - nepotism, incompetent non trustworthy and biased UOP managements who save their jobs and bottom lines and their puppets. You guys did not even spare the fresh college hired, dragged your feets for months and at the ends pull back the offers in Nov-December. Some might have selected UOP’s offer and may have let go other offer thinking to join so called the best company for ChemE. All major aero and oil and gas stocks were down but HON well above its previous average during pendamic without revenue increase. This shows how greedy the organization is where employees stand in their priorities. Pitch your sacrifice lecture to the UOP and HON management.

@1mzu+18qdl7hl You are so correct I am in the same boat as you with 35+ years. Place use to be so family orientated and saying that a lot of family member's worked there and enjoyed it. Now I think I wouldn't have any family or friends work there Honeywell wreck on good place in UOP. I love working for UOP as you stated for the innovative, different technology they can do with chemicals and all. Wish Honeywell could see that but they dont all care about things in green and green in the CEOs pockets.
OH BY way Merry Christmas too all not a winter Holiday like the company calendar says.

As a 35+ year UOP employee I can tell you it changed huge and mostly for the worst

We had layoffs in the 80s and 90s but they were never like HON layoffs.

UOP was an innovative company that attracted the best talent. It was an honor to say I worked at UOP. Now I am embarrassed to say I work for Honeywell. I fact I now rarely clarify it’s actually Honeywell. I say I work at UOP.... and that’s the way I will describe it until I retire or I’m laid off.....

This is just a cost management issue for Honeywell. Reputation management firms ( Indian folks leaving fake reviews ) charge by review and by company name. Cheaper to post fake reviews for only one company. Tough year.. everyone has to sacrifice.
