Announcing DISCORD 2021

We're proud to announce that DISCORD 2021 will take place virtually throughout the Thomson Reuters enterprise beginning January 1st.

Taking a cue from SYNERGY2020, Thomson Reuters has decided to be here now and host an internal users conference for its employees and stakeholders throughout the Corporates, Legal, and Tax segments.

The conference, aptly titled DISCORD 2021, seeks to amplify the organizational dysfunction and make it into something tangible. In an effort to become more agile and be here now, all employees will be required to participate.

  • “Workplace Grief: How to Cope With the Loss of Key Institutional Knowledge”
  • “Career Advancement: How to Do Nothing, Delegate Everything, and Take All of the Credit”
  • “Agile Ceremonies 101: Ceremonies and Artifacts to Honor the November Laid-Off”
  • “Agile Ceremonies 151: The Coldest January of Your Lifetime
  • “Agile Ceremonies 201: Give Everybody A Voice, Especially Those Who Scream the Loudest and Won’t Listen to Others”
  • “Reorganization 105: We Swear, It’s Gonna Work This Time!”
  • “Reorganization 205: A Requiem for Life Sciences”
  • “Reorganization 305: My Cousin Refinitiv”
  • “Sales Management 105: How to Drive Top Performers Away Through Obliteration of a Livable Comp Plan”

“We feel that we obviously have a plan here,” SH said. “A plan is a detailed proposal for doing or achieving something. We’re able to take that plan and deliver on it.”

Great posts! And as a member of the Thomson Reuters Class of 2018, @dgi+18sPzsBT, I promise will do my best to wag my finger in their smug managerial faces regardless of that stupid contract. It never hurts to occasionally bring back those feelings of bitterness; it keeps the blood pumping.

In a better effort to update internal customers, Thomson Reuters has announced some changes to their initial rollout of DISCORD2021. Among the updates: Breakout sessions will be included, as will several third-party vendor booths.

“We felt that it was appropriate to further implement the structure of the SYNERGY model for our DISCORD conference,” BP said.

Breakout sessions offer the program attendees another opportunity to discuss, reflect, or act upon the themes of the conference: organizational dysfunction, unqualified upper management, a lack of focus, a disdain for team members not pulling their weight, among others.

“It’s important that you have a means by which to discuss the insanity that is TR in 2021,” added BP. “I mean, what are we going to do about it? Management is here to protect ourselves. But it’s important that people feel like they’re being heard, people feel like we care. Perception is reality.”

Among other resources being added to the DISCORD conference are booths staffed by third-party vendors. Among the more notable additions to the booths at DISCORD are booths hosted by LinkedIn Premium, Indeed.com, and the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL).

The DOL, a late entrant to the conference, will have representatives on hand to review COBRA insurance options for those who will lose their jobs in 2021.

Reuters news has also learned that there will be additional booths staffed by former Thomson Reuters employees from what some call the “Thomson Reuters Class of 2018,” a tongue-in-cheek nickname to those who were unceremoniously dumped in the major overhaul of the company two years ago.

The former employees will be available to offer insight into transition services and advice for leveraging your skills and taking them to the competition. It has also been rumored that members of the former TR employee group staffing these booths are contractually forbidden from wagging their fingers and saying, “I told you so!” to management that will be in attendance at the conference.

Who is pulling the strings at TR?

Is it new ceo s Hasker? Brian Pecc? Segment & sub segment leaders?

Every year, front line workers are laid off but yet the managers remain, regardless of their performance.

What value does it bring to TR and TR shareholders for management to be immune from responsibility and overpaid while workers are laid off? Doesn’t this effect the long term health of TR? Who is running the cabal of shielded, overpaid management?

Answers please
