Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

DSD Ending in 2021

Mondelez has been quietly closing sites in its DSD delivery model for years. I worked at a high volume, very efficient nabisco branch outside of the biggest city in WI for years until they shut it down in 2017. We were not the first closure or the last either.

We out performed the nearest branch annually. Its all about dollars & logistics in the end and they will say whatever it takes to keep you working there because they do need you to work until the end of the closure... then they dont. Meanwhile the upper echelon can keep collecting their bonuses paid for by the salaries of former employees.

Stop saying "no layoffs" when there was plenty of them back in April during the optimization and from the New Jersey and Atlanta factory shutting down... Id--tic sheep.

Everything has been positive on our conference calls.
We've doubled down on DSD.
Buying a new fleet of trucks.
Using bigger distribution centers.
Providing reps with new cars, tablets and phones.
We're committed to DSD

No layoffs!

Parts of Nabisco are on strike across the country if this isn't an eye opener I don't know what is........ here in Virginia we are getting products. Deliveries are 5hrs plus delayed or not showing up at all. No communication people are leaving left and right and they are not hiring to replace. Sales reps are now taking the merchandisers/dm/sales rep with no extra pay or help. Sh-t is out of line

I'm thinking the branch I work out of is going to be a target. Any one heard any talk of shutting down teams and shuffling reps over to adjacent teams?

Pandemic saved DSD!
Status quo for 2021!
Maybe 2022 or 2023 but no layoffs for 2021

Ride it out or get out. Life can be difficult at times. Accept it and deal with it.

We have a DC that has been operating at less than half capacity and it sits just between WM largest grocery depot and Kroger new multi million $ DC that was built to hold product for warehouse....lots of space for Mondelez. Win win for customers, Mondelez pays slotting fees as well as customers pay less for our product to keep a competitive edge. Yes, they can handle our volume. That is a joke. Currently most retailers only have one or two aisles in their stores of DSD...rest is warehouse.
Its gonna happen whether you like to embrace it or not.

Yep....just yep. Branch locations are due to proximity to customer DC's and warehouses. oh its coming, and has been for quite some time. Rome was not built in a day, and an overhaul of the largest global snacking company won't either.
