Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I hate seeing this

I've been with AT&T long enough to say I've seen it through good and bad times but even I have to admit it was never this bad. Employees are so dissatisfied they are HOPING to see the company fail. We have layoffs left and right, bad acquisitions, wrong sales, utter mismanagement... This place will survive this, it always does, but the question is what will it look like in the end? Will it even be recognizable to us oldtimers anymore?

DIRECTV and Time Warner were EXPENSIVE aquistions, that money could have been better deployed elsewhere.

I'm sure T was... interesting at least...once upon a time. But those days are long gone.

You asked if it will be recognizable.
Is it even recognizable now??

"You're stripping benefits and retirements away from good working people due to one strategic blunder after another, and then somehow turning around and acting like their "resistance to change" is the problem."

Isn't that classic abusive behavior? I don't want to keep beating you but you make me do it. We'd be successful if it weren't for the incompetence of the employees. After all Stankey can't ever be wrong. What a fragile, toxic ego that waste of oxygen is!

If it fails the last persons to be hurt will be upper management.
They are plundering our company. So much that there wasn't much left for elliot management to take.

If there were bad actors running the company and trying to destroy it, they couldn't do much worse than the current leadership has done. The straw that broke the camels back was alienating the rich/white customers which all are marketing was based on.

Well Peter Pan, I heard that Stankey Pie knows more about TV than any of us! Of course, he's the one I heard it from...

This douche canoe talks about "change" and that we should either..." "opt in for the ride" or find an environment where the "evolution" is more to our liking".

You're stripping benefits and retirements away from good working people due to one strategic blunder after another, and then somehow turning around and acting like their "resistance to change" is the problem.

The gall of this pompous, pathetic, blowhard. You'd think at some point you'd have at least a little humility when everything you touch turns to excrement. Not this guy.

And please, as someone that never served their country in any capacity, don't go quoting military leaders; its really a bad look. Actually on second thought, maybe you should be appointed Secretary of Defense. You probably know more about the military than anyone.

Woke management combined with treating employees like consumables will take it's toll. All successful companies do not treat their employees as throwaways as it is a recipe for failure. The real mediocrity is in the highest levels of management, who have constantly made foolish and wrong strategic decision that have cost the company, it employees and shareholders mightily. The fact that Stankey was put in charge of Time Warner is just one example, he knew nothing about the entertainment industry, but has been incredibly successful at driving talent out of that organization.
