Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Hey Video Service Group / DirecTV Managers -

Lighten up management dudes -

We got sold .

Some Private Equity firm owns us now and they don't care about NPS or DPP - they only care about how much equity can be squeezed out us before we shrivel and die like a raisin in the sun.

So why are the Video Managers grinding so hard on us to pimp our last few customers for another 12 bucks for Protection Plans?

Why you asking us to beg for mercy so that last remaining customer gives us a "five" on your NPS survey?

The pig got sold at auction already, we don't need to keep polishing the pig to make it look pretty - this ain't no high schooler's 4H project anymore.

Pig got sold. Pig gets carved up. Pig becomes bacon. End of piggie story.

So quit bugging us.

Honestly I blame customers for being just that stupid for expecting anything different, and remaining with dtv especially if you have other options available to you. I’m guessing it’s the oldie crowd that can’t simply figure out what streaming is and love paying leased equipment fees every month for gear they’ll never own. Stuuuuupid.

It’s called entry level work for a reason my friend. Bottom of the totem pole. The fry guy at a McD’s. The asphalt dudes out on the highway. The grocery bagger guy. Skill UP and move laterally or vertically, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up that posting your woes on this site will ever change anything.

From a customer perspective, dealing with ATT for DirecTV is a nightmare. I'm sure it's the same for the techs and they have to take the customers heat. Foreign operators, errors in billing and services. Pain in the a–. My wife and I actually paid to dump ATT DTV and get cable.

NEVER skip your lunch @jby. Or your breaks. Never give this company so much as a minute of your time for free.

So what if the job is misscheduled and 2 hours late? That wasn't your doing. This place isn't worth stressing out over. This company is ruled by sociopaths that will work you to death when they need you and then dump you the first moment they don't.

Take care of your customers (within reason) and do your job well, but never give these scum managers your time for free.

Life of a Directv tech:Wake up at 6,Check route,2 jobs already built wrong, Call first customer for eta,Be onsite at 8am for first appointment,Get chewed out by customer because they were on phone for 2 hours, begin working when that is over after apologizing, chat in to fix order, don’t forget cones, parking brake, P p e, etc etc!Finish job and close order,Call 2nd am appointment that is wrong number,Drive to next appointment and try not to get rear ended or hit by someone who shouldn’t be driving,Make it ,Put on parking brake, put out cones, wear all PPE,knock on door , listen again to customer upset because they were on the phone for 2 hours to get a tech to their home, apologize, make sure your cones are out properly, don’t forget PPE,do your job, it’s now 11:55 and your planning lunch,Oh well, they just dropped a am service call on you 45 minutes away, forget lunch!Call that am and they are p-ss-d because you didn’t show up at 8 am and they had plans for pm, chat in to reschedule! Geez, I am stressed out so now I don’t want lunch!Take lunch anyways,Repeat for pm appointments!Go home stressed out and your blood pressure is high!Repeat process the next day!Talking about a burnout! No wonder these guys take off every chance they can!
