What are the odds that verizon requires employees to take the covid vaccine? I myself do not intend on getting one!

I would not thought it possible that anyone would show the true depth of their ignorance and complete disregard for all others in a public forum (proudly at that), but congrat's to those of you choosing not to vaccinate you have set a new low - hope you all have your tinfoil hats on...
Employment law gives any employer the right to ban an employee from a work premises if they are a danger to others.
In this case, a Covid-19 risk by not getting a shot.
The Company will heavily encourage everyone to take the vaccine. Maybe even offer a discount on next year’s insurance. But they will not require the vaccine. Way too much liability.

Considering the fact I was deemed essential, and have worked through the whole pandemic. I was wondering if Verizon was pushing to get the vaccine for us. I would take it no problem, but I get the feeling that it's only essential that we work, not that we survive. We will be lumped in with everyone else, and get it in the summer.
The vaccine will be distributed within Verizon based on how essential everyone is. So of course all of wireless will get it first because they are the backbone of this company. Followed by wireline employees who support wireless. Last in line would be the least essential like wireline union.
That company stinks! They don't care about you. Their practices are criminal at best.
I didn't think about it prior but the "The company will probably come out with some type of compensation for taking the vaccine." makes sense. VZ currently give you a break on your health insurance if you are a non-smoker, they could easily do something similar with Covid vaccine.

This post is the reason humanity will come to an end. Ignorant people who read between the lines and come up with all sorts of conspiracy theories. Once proven safe take the vaccine. If not for yourself take it for your family, neghbor, or the greater society. Pick one and quit being so selfish.
Since liability protection was not included with the current stimulus bill, the majority of employers will require the vaccine.
The union will be mandating the vaccine for all obese associates which means almost everyone.
Unless the government mandates you taking the shot then, No. Verizon would have to do a lot of legal work (years) to be able to mandate you taking a shot. They don’t have any legal ground right now to make you take it. I’m not taking it either. It needs to be studied for 10 years before I do.

no the company can not and will not force anyone. they don't ask you for proof of measles or flu vaccines so why would they ask you for covid. and besides at the moment there is not enough to go around even if they did want everyone to get it.
Im union myself and have been in and out of the office the whole pandemic. Haven't been too worried about but I do take my precautions. Im not willing to take a vaccine that has barely been studied. Those who want to be the guinea pig have at it!

Bash the company that is paying you. Refuse to take the vaccine. And think it is funny, Good job!
That is clearly your choice. But really. So do you want to go back into an office? I know my husband does not as I am high risk. But he would take that vaccine in a second if it kept me safe. And him safe. I guess it comes down to priorities.
Union side no unless the union folds. Non union side, possibly, hopefully not. It's a personal choice.
