Thread regarding Optum layoffs

This is a toxic company

Optum managers don't care about anyone but themselves . The love the bullies and encourage them to make as many people miserable as possible so we will quit. This is such a toxic company and it gets worse everyday . I am sorry that I decided to work at Optum.

What @3tft+18nzx9P0 said. This place will do anything to save a few bucks, and forcing people to leave on their own to save the company from paying them severance money is at the top of that list. "Why pay when you can bully and save" should be Optum's new motto.

Fear works absolutely. Look at all the tax and debt slaves (employees). You create a corporation/business call it a "country" – uses endless and copious propaganda to sell you junk you don't need, work hard Horatio Alger mythologies, and other US myths,. Get into debt (house, student loans, car payments, insurances, etc...) , then don't have universal health care -you can get it through your employer-slave master)-more bills, get some kids (more debt), have employment at whim doctrine (only in the US)–total job insecurity, and Presto!!
now you are the perfect US employee. You will dance, prance, and sing the company song loud and strong as the abuse continues to ensure their capitalistic profit obscessions. Go team.

My end is near. Your end is maybe near. Find a nice boss that might save you. Fear is a great tactic from the 1950 to pressure employees. It is old style management process that works very effective. You just need mean people to join the company. And mean people are very easy to find.

They do not hire senior leadership that is soft. That want leadership that will tear you apart.

Yah, we don't live in a real country. It's a corporation, a business opportunity for hu$tlers/hucksters, and we're simply chattel. Tax and debt slaves that are OWNED. We have no rights except for a few (race, disability, etc) other that you're owned by the masters who control every aspect of our lives. When we eat, if we can go on holiday, vacation, how we pay our rent, if we get health care, how much we can save for retirement, etc..etc..it's vile. the US empire was a huge mistake-Freud.

Senators and Congressman have shares in Optum. Good luck. And they have pension plans invested in healthcare companies like Optum good luck.

The only way to impact is a union. But that will not happen.

There are those that take the abuse and those that dont and leave. Your choice. Your ONLY choice.

Maybe write to the senators and congressmen why the corporation is able to do this extra work without pay nonsense and why there are so few employment rights in america

Optum weekend work now required for Nurse practitioners-without additional pay So much for work-life balance. Also, new bonus structure now yearly and unachievable–will get k–led in taxes. Front line staff in nursing homes, which are loaded with COVID-now no hazard pay. Managers continue to sit home-no risk of covid-getting fatter and fatter!

Optum lies, more work everyday is piled on–just do this, just do this!! Only way to survive is to falsify the huge amount of required documentation.

Optum–do you really think any NP is actually doing what is documented?

No layoffs this week. Its is Xmas. HR likes to be off this week but they ready to go after the new year.

This weekend will be your few days of peace. Ready for the battle next year. I know I will be gone since I been here 20 years. Fired by a new boss that started six months ago has not made any improvements in the department other than cut salary.

These people are selected for one reason. To do the dirty work that you could not do. It is not evil. It is business.

Who in their right mind to" just talk to HR?" Other than weather, doggies, and vanilla ice cream talk–you do NOT talk to HR. They are not your advocate. They only represent the company. They do not care about you. Period.

To survive, you have to shift the focus to another problem area so your boss will be busy. When one area is falling apart, my boss is way too busy to beat up on me everyday.

Sort of sad. It is a game. Very difficult game to play. Try to get them to focus on someone else.

I know. It is ugly. No one talks to each other. No one wants to talk otherwise the focus will be on them. At some point the process will breakdown and the boss will beat me up again.

The real issue is that I want out. I dont want to leave. But they may keep me. I lose either way. I have to play the game better.

but if I really want out. Just talk to HR.
