Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

What do they expect?

Does the ELT really think we can get more than $15B for DirecTV if we wait longer? Yes, it's a huge loss but at least it's something. We keep hemorrhaging customers at a pace that makes me wonder how anybody wants to buy it in the first place. At least now we're getting offers. In a year, nobody will be interested and then the loss will be the full $49B instead of $34.

Someone said: "Directv is a totally different type of business that requires more of an in touch customer service and experience that the company promoted people within!" True but not nearly as impressive a truth as the same observation about Warner media. I can't wait to see the fire sale for that one. 208 S. Akard will be draped with those banners you see at used car dealerships: "Just make an offer, no down payment."

Stankey was chosen because he was the best candidate that applied. No good candidates applied. Elliott Management expressed that then sold and moved to better targets who they could improve. The good candidates were not stupid enough to want to be considered knowing Stephenson left it a mess.

Nah, Stankey's got it totally right. He should hold out for a lot more.

"OK, here's this company. You just have to give me a lot more than $15B. Oh, and you only get 49%. We're keeping 51%, because reasons. Oh, and you have 100% of operational responsibility, we ain't going to touch that; because that gives AT&T tax advantages, not you."

What seasoned executive would not jump at that deal?

Truth:Att bought a television provider and tried to run it as a telephone company and it doesn’t work! Directv is a totally different type of business that requires more of an in touch customer service and experience that the company promoted people within! Most everyone in the company’s history worked in the field first and knew the product and how the system worked! From tech to supervisor to representatives to upper management!Att can’t say that at all so yes Directvs value is there, the company isn’t being ran right at all so why wouldn’t Directv hemorrhage customers! It has been mismanaged from day 1 it was bought! Everyone has an opinion and I respect that but also you should respect the truth!

Stinky is an over paid premadonna that thinks he is the top executive in the US. He does not ubderstand how stup1d he really is. He thinks he can pull a fast one over the true sharks out there.

He is just a goldfish that will get eaten alive.

Not that it matters as he will walk away with hundreds of millions while the rest of us are screw3d over.
