Rebranding of National Oilwell Varco

Will change its corporate name to NOV Inc from January 1, with its ticker symbol remaining unchanged

Hopefully this is a great first step in branching off in to alternative energies and rethinking existing technologies

So when are they rebranding to Schlumberger, Halliburton, or GE?

They can rebrand all they want. But customers will remember c-appy salesmen, red tape, and not being able to get the right part on time. Another dog and pony show.

Quote
Bosses said the move reflected its “broadening mission within energy” amid the transition to a low carbon economy.

The irony to this quote is being low carbon efficient whilst destroying the planet extracting high carbon.

Renewable energy is where it’s at. NOV will never change. This rebranding is a soft approach

Too little too late. NOV has hitched it wagon to horses and buggies while so many other players, both big and small, have already sped off in electric cars.
