Should we email HR about taking the package in Midland. Instead of cutting people they need i wonder if they will take volunteers.

No AI can apply industry knowledge and make judgement calls. You need people who have seen "it" before to do that.

Technology improvements doesn't causing a lack of trust in one's company. That comes from poor management that pioneer continues to not address. Pioneer created a monster for years by promoting unskilled workers and now those workers are executives who don't have a clue what their employees do. The huge disconnect between workers and management is just magnified in times like these

HR does not care if you volunteer or not for a package! It is already in stone by your manager anyway. The great plan decides who comes and goes.

If you want to volunteer you're an id–t grow a set and put in your notice and find a new company to complain about. HR should let go of anyone who volunteers with no package if you're below 55.
A lotta good employees have that actually cared lost their jobs and more will.

If you have good relationship with your manager, I would speak to them first, to see if they can put your name down. A lot of decisions last round came from top down (aka your vp to manager etc)
