Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Artificial Intelligence

We are currently training the A.I. that will take over ordering altogether with programs like instock, so eventually the buyer position will be phased out.

The way Whole Foods moves, it will likely be a couple more years.

Eventually all supermarkets will have one cashier for the inept customers and the rest self checkout.

I have no faith in wfm "new technology". History has shown me that, haha

I’ll second the comment below.
My whole family really miss what WF used to be. Some of us have had part-time positions as a worker while we were at school and we always have shopped at WF. The workers were different back then not to mention the prepared food. Workers were a mix of artsy people and some people who you would expect to see in the grocery stores ha ha. Workers now are different. I think that they don't realize how rude they are but they are rude.
Now I get none of the nice decor or good prepared food, and no interesting workers to chat with but pay the same or higher price. Prepared food now is terrible. My dog had declined to take a bite of fried something 2 years ago because of the awful smell and we never bought prepared food from WF again
It's just sad

It doesn't matter when it was originally posted. I for one stand by my comment. I have shopped WF for years. My experiences now are awful. It was a beautiful company years ago and a joyful environment. Decor was awesome especially at holiday time. Team members were hard workers and had a high standard of customer service. Everything has changed. It's on a downhill slide. High prices, no joyful anything. Upgrade everything Whole Foods. Upgrade something!!!

At first I was against self checkout because I was concerned about people losing their jobs. Now I say, fine. I can check myself out faster, don't have to endure snobbish attitude of cashiers or their slowness. I am not a fan of Walmart, but must give them kudos for trying to keep their software upgraded and keeping their self checkout moving. Whole Food's this isn't 1980. Not even 1910. Upgrade something!!!

It’s not like the buyers are real buyers. They are literally order writer team members. Whatever really.
