Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Next round

I’ve got an exit strategy in the works and I’m wondering how much time we may have left until we’re hit with a round of layoffs? I’m hoping we’ve got another 3 ½ months at least. Then again you never know with this company. One could be right around the corner.

XOM is not a fair place to work. There are too many employees who are not qualified but know how to work the system. All the “workers” were laid off so now there is no one left to be delegated for work. This will be interesting.

@tce - take it from someone who was NSI’d in July after his ranking tanked - it matters! A-hole.

They said next lay off would be performance based, so that will be after the annual appraisals, probably September, unless it is fast tracked.

Hand a roll of Angel Soft to me, as the quality of my work belongs in the toilet along with 99% of the Exxon employee base. It is time for all of us to be flushed down the potty.

The Potty is over slackers. We blew it.

If oil prices improve, back to business as usual. If not, then we can operate as a leaner organization to return more shareholder value.... What?

Why does oil prices need to improve for us to stop returning shareholder value?

If the economic conditions start to improve and oil prices continue inching up, then it may be over. If things remain the same or get worse further capex cuts and perhaps another round or layoffs may be needed.

If you s— at your job, you should go. No sense in carrying freeloaders (many PIPs I know ended up passing). Many companies in the tech industry have PIPs also (Amazon @ 10%)

Those retirement eligible that didn't opt in to the voluntary program are likely the targets for the next round of PIPs though.

Would love for the company to lay me off. Would have been great to cash in on my pension.

3 to 6 months would be a fair assessment. Some attrition will continue as usual as (or if) the economy starts picking up again.

I don't think we will have another open layoff in 2021, just another round of PIP (hidden layoff).
