Has anyone been seeing any lack of motivation in their BUs? For the last few months my coworkers - and I'll be honest, me as well - seem disinterested. Some of us feel like no matter how much effort we put in there, are no opportunities for upward mobility. Add to that everything that's been going on with layoffs and benefits, what is really left to try hard for?

2020 has been a year in which commute time could have been converted into learning new skills like technology or a new language or a new skill like knitting or a time to tutor your kids or photography or play the guitar or get a professional license or certification. The opportunities are truly endless.
the opportunities to move upward come from within
if not at least you are adding to your talent stack so you can move onward. WAKEUP!
I have plenty of motivation. It comes twice a month. Much better off than the victims of COVID and those out of work
I wonder how fast anyone jobless due to Covid wouldn't mind trading places with any of you complaining 🤡's?'
The 401k match didn't increase, you just get the 2% throughout the year vs a lump sum once per year, and now you have to contribute to your 401k to get it.
@pez+18yQ6USa .... actually, I've been sitting in front of my screen in my underwear. Besides, shaving and wearing decent clothes really don't do anything for me anyway. I look just as bored and unmotivated either way.
@1fzc+18yQ6USa - That is this year, next year will be a different story. Hopefully better, but for some at the bank it will be bad because layoffs are on the horizon here and elsewhere in the banking industry.
401K benefit went from 5% to a 7% match and no layoffs as promised.
Christmas and New Year’s move toward us again..
The old sickening duet
The masses coming out of their TV caves
The family gatherings
The gross dull nothingness
The fake drunks
The fake smiles
The fake people
may we live through this somehow
one more time.
Merry Christmas 🎉🎄☃️
Last couple of months? It was that way the last couple of YEARS that I worked for BNY. So glad that I moved on. Give THAT a try!
How can anyone be motivated sitting behind a computer screen all day, every day for months on end in their sweatpants? Maybe try going into the office a day or two. Shave, put on outside clothes and give it a go. Maybe people will feel better and more worthy of they made an effort.
What’s happening to benefits that is true vs. thw bs on here
