Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Exxon - That's it.

I've had it and I made a decision to jet. I am on the IT side so it may be easier to do this but I am taking courses now and will try to break into health and lifesciences IT - not sure where this will take me but i've had it with oil and gas. good luck all.

Do it!

It’ll save a job for someone in the company!

Bless you Tiny Tim...bless us one and all!

You are going to go work for the geek squad at Best Buy? Careful because they actually hire knowledgeable people unlike Exxon! I predict you will go nowhere because you are qualified to go nowhere! You are a zero with shoes.

Good luck. You might take a pay cut but the segment should be more stable long term. @srg is right, EMIT in particular has a very nasty culture of fake “technical leaders”, one result of the last VP’s (admittedly positive) efforts to “highgrade” IT in the company but taken way too far. Many parts of EMIT will need to be knocked down a few pegs before they know their place.

I retired voluntary from IT-oriented team on MoHD Medical/occup health after 30 years with the company. ethically, SHe is the only area I could have worked for so long.

health and lifesciences a great area to use your IT skills in the future.
Get some more statistics under the belt at local comm college if needed.

o&g IT - that's d—beat - monitoring yesterday's gas-flows...
Most of the gasflow in XoM comes from the orifices gathered in Dallas.

Oil sector is fine.. be careful of chasing the hot industries.. the issue for EM is much more than a sector disruption in commodity prices.. much more.. with DW

Learn from the master fakers and frauds in EMIT, Data Science and Digital Transformation groups. There are few people who claim to be graduated from Harvard (because they took few day online certificate course lol) while in fact they went to some of the worst schools, have no technical knowledge and making a career out of creating and attending unnecessary meetings.

How much worse could it be for serious workers when someone "falsely advertises to be a graduate from Harvard" and one of the ex VPs likes it. Everyone is blind in this corporation.
