Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T and 2021 Prognosis

I think we may have a good year. Honestly if the gov exerts pressure on FAANG we have a good shot at benefiting from this.

We may want to leverage our content assets a bit better but when you think about this, we have everything you need - we have both content and tech.

I think that if we had better management we would have been in a position to rule the market. I think 2021 will be a good year.

This corporation has obviously shifted. Long term employment is NOT on there radar screen. You get hired, you do your job! That’s it....why are people struggling to get it? Because there not focused on you.....you think they’ve lost there minds? You come in and do your job(hard to do with there management). When it’s over...it’s over. They don’t owe you anything but a paycheck. When you start buying into the corporate “team” philosphy...is where you go wrong. You give them just what they pay for....nothing “extra”. Adapt over be miserable!

Actually, where some areas of the business are being downsized or outsourced, other areas of the business are growing, especially in the AWS throughout the country.

“Too little, too late” as they say! This company blew it once again by trying to lead from behind as it has always been so great at doing for the last 15 years or so! Now, T is hanging by a thread trying to pull itself out of the quick sand it got itself stuck in starting in 2015!

There's no we at T, let's not be delusions.. this is a large legacy corporation , There's really two classes of "employees " here , executive management that makes the rules, sets policies, and rigs their own gold parachutes, they operate on a quarterly schedule, and the worker bees that implement policy, play the corporate game and hope to be around long enough to make some sort of living they're politely asked to leave, because their skill/department/ division is no longer needed..

Who's 'we'? There is no 'we' at this company. The workers are only here to supply labor to meet management's metrics.

When no longer needed, workers will be discarded. This is not a team or a family, this is an extremely greedy corporation that sees its workforce as a liability and its customers as sheep to be fleeced.

As management has shown, it's everyone for himself at this place. You're a f00l if you believe otherwise.
