Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

I need a break

I'm pretty sure we all need a break. This year has been brutal in every possible aspect. With everything that's been going on, having to wait for months to find out if we'll be losing our jobs or not in the middle of a huge economic crisis was just a stinky, worm-filled cherry on top of a sh–ty cake.

I'm not sure how much more of this I can take. I really need a break next year. I know the pandemic can't just disappear overnight, but maybe, just maybe, Exxon will give us a reprieve? Is that too much to ask for?

Are the VPs not relaying the same message? Surprise, surprise!! Linda certainly mentioned the possibility of skipping ranking in 2021. Two days later, another VP said that 2021 natural attrition and PIPs would help achieve the ultimate goal. Give them a pat on the back for a job well done...HAHAHA. Get off the ship before it goes completely under.

Lol. So the hi-pos that were let go with the layoff and PIP's were just cruising along? Better keep your head down and not speak out else they will rid of your job. This company is a sinking ship and the leaders are just continuing to drill holes in the side of the hull.

For your sake I hope you never find out how wrong the narrative you just put out is. Many people were laid off who were doing all the things you claim will protect you. Good luck and I hope you never find out how wrong you are.

Delivering results does not guarantee you job security as many people learned this year.

Why should they guarantee a job for life? It is a business and not social security. If you contribute at the highest level, continue to develop and deliver results you will be fine. If you are just cruising and complaining maybe you are not a long term fit.

XOM could guarantee your job for LIFE, but not your Salary level and benefits.

I am with you. I want a job that is guaranteed for life. I don’t want to worry about anything. I mean, is Communism really that bad. It just wasn’t done right.

No breaks for the leeches I hope! If you were a doctor or a mechanic or anyone with a REAL skill you wouldn't be worried! You however ara probably either a loser power point presenter, a brown noser or a hand rail enforcer so you deserve to be thrown out! Go get a real job for once in your life!

Why they couldn’t have included more in the layoffs and skipped the PIPs for a year is beyond me. I guess it takes time to move those jobs to the BTC do can’t do it all at once.

Your hope is in vain. PIPs next year have been publicly confirmed by VPs in forums. What really stinks is the layoff would have been better with the severance and health insurance extension.
