JUST TURNED IN MY EOI, HOPE IT GETS APPROVED. HAVE ANOTHER JOB LINED UP. ILL TAKE THE SEVERANCE AND START MY NEW JOB.

Can we file for unemployment if we get severanced?
Yes, there are part time sales reps, in outlying areas. My understanding is they do not get a car with the position.
i know i decided to ride it out and didnt sign a letter. now i wish i had! what i thought was loyalty i now believe was in fact taken as a sign of my ignorance and i guess what offends me the most is my feeling that the decisions have already been made and we just dont deserve the truth. i know they dont want everyone to bail out and leave no one to do the job......

Yep, the "good ole boy" network usually plays a big role in who stays and who goes. I know I for one, will ask LOTS of questions and watch em sweat.
Does anyone know if all sales reps received the offer or just select areas?
They will attempt to eliminate enough employees voluntarily, than they will begin eliminating employees themselves.
Know your rights!
You have the right to receive, from HR, documentation with specifics on who was let go. The numbers broken down by AGE, RACE, s-x, etc.. This holds company's accountable! This protects employees from discrimination during the process. I've been through a number of "downsizing" and will ride this one out as well.
The company will say, tenure, geography, and performance are the metric they use....that order they use has to be consistent.
Let's make this process be fair....ask questions!
They sent severance emails to all reps in the regions that will be effected by this new restructure starting in april.

Smart! Best way to survive!! Severance won’t be much, never is! When you couple it with a new paycheck, you are golden! If you live off it and then have no income but unemployment you are in trouble! Good luck!
