Boo hoo, poor little manager. Who do you think you are? Your direct reports don't like lies told about them. Arrogance is rampant. Did you ever think that you could be sued for defamation? Defamation is lying about someone and trashing their personal and professional reputation. You screw with their good name. How dare you! Won't you be surprised when you are sued? That can include every petty little Napoleon in the chain. How will you and they feel when your wives are deposed? Just to make sure you aren't hiding any assets. How will you feel when someone comes after your house, 401K and all your assets? Even if you all manage to lie and stonewall, you will be tainted. There is no substitute for honor and you have none. Lying, lying lying. I was only following orders is your old defense but it has never held up. Look what happened to a certain aircraft manufacturer with their lying and dishonor. It cost them billions. Just imagine if someone rats you all out to the Air Force or government. Hopefully no one will be hurt again by your negligence and dishonesty.

Global Compensation Planning. The annual doling out of the meager raise allowances per corporate guidelines. Before they are reduced or cancelled. What OP is indicating is that the guideline amounts are an embarrassing pittance.

Glad I'm no longer a manager and back to being an IC. Certainly don't miss the annual event trying the impossible task of appeasing your direct reports with the crumbs you've been allocated and told not to allocate it funds. Then the numbers get changed anyway during approval loop by others who have no idea on merits of your team.

Guess it'll be the same 'merit increase' as last year (at least this year, it won't be announced and then cancelled).
