Info on UOP RIF's -
*~80 total (no official numbers known)
*5 voluntary RIFs in R&D (R&D volunteers were solicited back in December), all remaining involuntary RIFs
*Depts affected: R&D, Tech Service, Field Operating Service, Inspection, Sales/Sales Support, Engineering
*Locations: mainly Des Plaines, some in Bracknell (UK), small number in Delhi
*Years experience of those RIFed: all over the place, from recent hires to experts with decades of experience
They shut down the whole Arizona plant based in Phoenix. The plant will be closed sometime 2nd quarter and all employees will be laid off. That added to the last plant they closed in Arizona in August? No real plan to these layoffs...they laid off some employees that were the only ones trained to run certain accounts/tech in United States. Rumor is they will outsource to India or Mexico. Which they’ve done before and it didn’t go over well. Engineers picking up work from the last layoffs are overworked and haven’t had a raise in a couple of years and now will be trying to pick up the slack from this layoff as well with no relief in site. They can’t get approval to hire any new employees. Honeywell used to be well regarded. The last few years working there have been awful.
Is there anyone left to work? Very sad to see a company like UOP suffering at the hands of Honeywell...they are going to such them dry before discarding...wish UOP could go its own way...
So far I have heard 90 people let go. From Directors to CDP.
FOS, TS, and sales support all had RIFs. R&D had VRIFs only.
Will anyone post any details of the rif’ed people in UOP? Dep etc? FOS is very obvious one to take the hit but others?
This is true.
Illiteracy makes my head hurt. Don’t post if you cannot spell a word or put a sentence together.
L off on and off is normal on a small scale. It bad but that how Honey does business
Clueless OP. Just wanted attention. Accomplished.
OP, we are looking to you for some details. Can you please fill us in on things like:
- Which SBG?
- What levels/roles were involved?
- Was this actually a delayed VRIF or were positions eliminated?
- Are those jobs moving overseas?
Thanks for sharing!
Why bother making a post if you’re not going to provide any relevant information what do ever?
I am sick of trolls .
Is he talking about Boeing layoffs?
If this person is talking about UOP, then It’s an unfortunate truth. No solid numbers given out, but somewhere between 60-80 throughout the departments.
Op:
Please do not post layoff notices without facts. At a minimum, indicate where and how many.
Shocking....is this news to anyone.
Two people?
Where? How many? Job description of those laid off?
