Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Lawsuit? It’s problematic that Mondelez

Mondelez is issuing Layoffs with no direct date! To keep Sale Reps, DMs in limbo from Feb-April is BS! No one has real answers! I’ve worked 3-4 positions. Does severance cover all years with the company or just sales rep years? HR is a joke. I can barely understand broken English from representative. There has to be a direct line to someone who speaks proper English with more information

These documents they have you sign are stored at HR for when issues arise to protect the company. Do not take these things lightly. They need you to sign so that they can protect themselves! Hell no! We Wont SIGN!

Great Tip! Ask for your copy of all those affected by the lay off. Have an employment attorney on stand by! and most importantly let your co-workers know that they do not have to sign anything!

With the way this company operates....no way I am signing. I am gonna ride it out and watch and laugh at how they eliminate......don't forget to ask for your copy of all those effected, listed by age, race, gender, etc., I know I will! Discrimination is rampant through Mondelez with management. Put yourself in the drivers seat.

Make sure you understand what you are signing. If need be take it to an employment attorney for an opinion.

Signatures are legally binding.

Nope, they are eliminating DM's as well. If 1/3 of the sales force or more are gone, makes sense at least 1/3 of the DM roles will be eliminated as well. They have been told to defer any and all questions to HR...and we know where that leads! Our DM is pretty transparent, at least during happy hour and after 10 drinks.

It's not illegal to be jerks, only immoral. Morality has never been a strong point for anyone at Mondelez...! I've heard my boss tell a store that they were getting extra deliveries at quarter close cause they were. "remodeling the branch, no lie! So unethical! Ask Martha Stewart, she can tell you all the reasons why this isn't "OK".
The wheels will fall off....wait and see!

It’s 2 weeks per year of service and caps at 26 weeks total.

I crossed out two weeks per year and put 5 weeks per year. I made a copy. Not my fault they signed and didn't read the updated terms.

Those severances you put on here are complete lies. Mondelez does not offer severance in those amounts EVER. I'm unsure what the motivation is to put out these lies about the severance offered. It's less than 1/2 of what the person that claimed 5 weeks per year of service. It's 1/4 of what the person that claimed 8 weeks per year of service. It also doesn't even go up as high as 15 years of service. There's a cap, and it's lower than 15. Why the lying??? Are you trying to make the company look more generous? What's going on here with the lying? The severance amount is available online. Anyone can see it. It's a standard amount in the policies for sales reps. I have no knowledge of other positions. There's no way other positions severance would be that high unless you're top of the house, and in that case none of us would know the top of house severance. Again why are you lying to people on this site??? What a terrible thing to do to people that are confused, scared, and uncertain about their future during a pandemic. What a sicko!

I was offered 8 weeks for every year, capped at 20 years? Maybe they vary?

I guess it’s all how you view it....For someone whose been with the organization 25 years, to have it capped like that? Not so good! Seen much better! Guess they gotta save some money for Dirks paycheck 🤷‍♀️😂

Those of us that received the offer know, not sure why anyone else would care!

What terms were offered in the severance package

I had the severance agreement reviewed by an attorney, was advised not to sign! I’ll take that advice, Best firm in town!

If you don't know your rights....find them out! Mondelez pays out a lot in "settlements" because they don't care! They won't care unless you make them. i am not signing a thing, without the advice of an attorney! Once you sign, you sign away your rights, something you very well may regret down the road!
If you ask questions, do it in writing, and be direct. Save all correspondences, I am!

No, your severance will only cover time as a FT employee.
