Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Common Mistake, protect yourself

One mistake people make during a downsizing...asking questions of HR. HR is employed by Mondelez and their allegiance is to Mondelez, not you!
Having been through a number of these "downsizing", including this one, the best advice is to take your questions outside the organization. I personally know people that have regretted this mistake! Once you sign, you lose your rights.
Fun fact....Keebler employees had a class action suit AFTER the exit from DSD, regarding overtime issues. Mondelez has lost a suit and just settled a suit....there will likely be more to come!
I'm not signing, they can terminate me. In the end, we will get the same from Mondelez, without giving up our rights to sue, if it came to that.

Share this with your co-workers! Although they are manipulative remember, you have a choice not to sign these documents. You need to look out for YOUR best interests! The company looks out for THEIRS.

The voluntary separation is great for those who are of retirement age, for the rest it is manipulative. Why would someone sign if they aren't ready to retire? The only ones that benefit are Mondelez. I know two that signed it last round and regretted it! MIssed out on some real $.

Good advice. Spread the word and protect your selves and co workers. Look out for your best interests. The company is looking out for theirs.

An employment attorney. Very common for them to review. They will also give you good questions to ask. I'm not signing, reason being, if they let me go, and it's not voluntary, I'll get the same. The upside is I didn't sign away my rights for any "potential" issues that come up.

Thanks for the advice! What kind of lawyer should I consult with, before signing layoff papers?
