Thread regarding Cenovus Energy layoffs

Change of Corporate Governance Laws 2019 - Make sure to show this to your lawyer when discussing package

In 2019 Corporate Governance laws were changed. You may want your lawyer to review these changes in relation to how Husky and Cenovus have been operating the BOARD OF DIRECTORS. Any lapses in these regulations by you leaders will help you to build a case to fight for more severance. NEVER accept the first offer.

I guess since less people are working and driving the ambulance chasers have moved on to employment law?

Does knowing the corporate governance change the fact that we are being layed off? What a waste of time. Start posting useful things on this site such as new job opportunities. We should all be working together to create something new for the benefit of all of us. Surely out of the 2000 and some odd that are being layed off we can be creative and start looking forward instead of succumbing to anger and channeling energy backwards. What opportunities can we explore? There is 30% vacancy downtown Calgary and millions of square feet of office that we could leverage for new ventures. Stop wasting time on what was and start thinking about what could be.

What is the average cost to retain a severance lawyer? Maybe say $3000? If that is $3000 after tax that could equate to $6000 gross which means a good portion of one of your severance monthly payments will go to a lawyer. I would be interested to see what everyone is paying to retain a severance lawyer.

Gee, does anyone else think the lawyers are trolling our site looking for work😂. Must be tough times. I’m all for anyone and everyone talking to a lawyer but dear god this is excessive. Go find someone else to bug, you made your point.
