Make sure you don't sign anything under duress until you consult with a Lawyer. It is Illegal to be forced to sign a contract under duress.

I have never had an outcome that has involved a lawyer that worked out better than not using a lawyer. The cost of the lawyer was greater than the benefit from using a lawyer.
It's $200 for a review. I'm talking to my lawyer tomorrow for the results. The out placement folks told me to get a lawyer to review my package. I figure that if it's being suggested, you should do it.

Lots of folks in this forum saying that you can get a free 30 minute consultation with a lawyer. Not to sound like a jerk; But to me this is basically like on Facebook where you answer a few questions about whatever, and then this pops up: “To see your results, click here”. Then you are prompted to enter your Credit card number.
Lawyers aren’t stupid, and they’re all rich for a reason. Unfortunately, they’re going to make a fortune off of distressed laid off people looking to squeeze a few extra bucks out of a huge oil company who have an office full of their own lawyers based off a bunch of disgruntled ex Cenovus or Husky employees saying to do so.
Not telling anyone what to do, but word of advice is to do your research before going to see a lawyer.
Those of you who were let go, I truly do hope you are able to find employment, and good luck.
