at IBM there is always rumors of layoffs no idea why anyone works here. I do because I like my clients but the majority of them are not signing again do to bad support and unethical sales. Newco will also fail with the same mo–ns at the helm.

Yes. It will be a bloodbath. Hang on. Best of luck to all. This is the big one.

There, did I say everything I should say even though I know nothing?

Just got hired on by a company that is bringing back IT from a disastrous outsourcing to IBM/India. When will American companies realize outsourcing/offshoring doesn't work. Oh, that would mean brain cells exist in the upper echelons. Yes, I was RA'd back in early '20.

No nothing so stop asking and focus on your life, if it happens it happens, so always anticipate that it will happen and be prepared.

Having US resources managed by India teams is not new. This happened in several orgs I have been in over the past 2-3 years. It ended badly in all cases. Once they get a look at your much larger western salary, plus your reluctance to be on team calls after midnight, you will find yourself kicked to the curb.

Believe me, this is not a joke. It's the SOP.

I know several people in the US who will soon be managed by India teams.
Something is brewing and it smells like an arse factory

“Reason - structural changes, moving business to India.”
I have heard this scenario from two other people in two different orgs and seems to be a common thread... layoffs and moving the work to India.

IBM GTS Slovakia. Whole AT&T account. Around 120 people previously AT&T employees - forced to join IBM over a year ago. They announced it yesterday - on Thursday.
Reason - structural changes, moving business to India.

Good luck to all && stay safe!

Why t f do you start this every week without info about layoffs.

If you do this then no one will believe when they actually happen

Board's been quiet, execs must be waiting for another Thursday. I haven't heard anything (disclaimer) but as a former IBMer I would put my measly wages on any of the Thursdays in Feb. :D
