I'd be out of here so fast if I could find a way to get my name on the layoffs list. But I'm not leaving without a severance. Any way I can guarantee I get it?

They may tell how much severance you qualify for as they pay you off, but they will not and are not allowed to pay it unless the bankruptcy judge allows it. There is no one on your side to help you on the Hertz side or the Judge side. So good luck with that dream!
Also they will have to pay the $18b debt to the banks who are in front of you to get paid.
Hertz has to restructure in order to survive. That means wiping out their debt from the banks and every other creditor. If you get laid off that means you too!
