the belief that success should be handed to you without working for it. The every kid gets a medal generation reads a book like the 4 hour workweek and conveniently skips over the part where the author worked his tail off to get to the point where he could work 4 hours a week. They start out assuming they can work 4 hours a week and get a paycheck and a promotion.

the switch from rewarding talent and accomplishments to finding the lowest cost provider for labor (offshoring work)

A little time in the history books will show one that exploiting free/cheap and disposable labor (slaves, women) was the route to success in many past endeavors not the innate skills and abilities of the ruling class. Which I guess is just what Ford leadership is doing now, finding cheap labor and then disposing of the older, primarily male, workforce. History repeats.

I think HF attitudes changed over his lifetime. People do learn and grow.
The universe tends to provide opportunities for growth.

My grandfather was a huge believer in the superiority of men over women in both intellect and sports. He had 3 sons and 3 daughters. Despite all his efforts his sons were poor students and poor athletes. His daughters effortlessly brought home straight As and were varsity athletes in high school and college. His daughters had high paying careers, his sons worked low wage manual labor.
Hilariously enough the same pattern repeated with his 3 sons who also were huge believers is male superiority. Yes, family get togethers were a hoot.
My grandfather eventually at age 60 when the pattern repeated with his grandchildren stopped spouting his male superiority diatribes.

My father was a huge racist this persisted until my sister married a black man and the grandchildren came along. He dearly loves his grandchildren and has stopped spouting racist comments.

People tend to discriminate against otherness until they have positive direct exposure to the otherness. The universe has a perverse sense of humor and will find ways to lead bigots down another path.

The tesla owners are also used to Autopilot. I know Mache also has it.

Tesla owners are used to dealing with multiple software bugs and sketchy build quality. If it works for Tesla, who's to say that Mach-E buyers won't be thrilled to find the same kind of "features" in their new Ford BEV?

The customer base must be tripping over themselves to buy one and important to get one of the first because of great engineering and build quality..
