We have a Rotisserie associate that explodes verbally and throws items around almost daily. He does this when the night shift associate fails to clean the skewers, ovens, and empty the grease caddies at the end of his shift, 5 days a week. Management is well aware of the day shift associate anger issues as well as the night associates lack of doing his job correctly. This has been going on for well over a year and while I like the day shift associate, his constant explosiveness is starting to wear on my nerves as well as the nerves of others. What can be done?

Take pics and send to Market Manager.
Guy needs fired. Don't understand why they don't fire him. Management is wrong. I don't blame the morning shift for throwing things.
The night associate will not do his job, leaves pieces of chicken and even a whole bird in the oven and then pushes the clean button. The next morning the opener will, hopefully ,scoop out the washed chicken before turning the oven on. Night shift will not clean the skewers or empty grease. He puts chicken in and walks around the club until they are done. Management and team lead have talked to him and he has been coached up to a red several times. Day shift associate is always angry, cussing constantly. Yelling why doesnt anyone else do their f....ng job! Why do I have to clean up after him and he doesn't have to do the same. Day shift is twice the age of night shift.
What types of items is he throwing?
Paper towels? Knives? Tables?
Do you feel unsafe or are you just annoyed?
Address the person not doing their job. They are creating so much stress on other associates it incites a hostile environment. Everyone has a breaking point and when you are pushed so far on a daily basis something’s gotta give. These managers do not address the slackers, the one’s thT call off constantly and are unproductive, but then hole everyone else accountable. I don’t blame that person for blowing up everyday.
Go to your lead first
pretty easy fix. tell the manager so and so is creating a hostile work environment. Those key words usually motivate a manager to at least speak to the associate about his or her professionalism in the work place.
If u work mornings u just have to get use to cleaning up after evening shift.
Seriously, it's the manager's fault for not holding the night shift responsible and making the them do their job. Blame them.
